Which personal data does GEA collect and store?

In connection with your use of the Intranet GEA will store your following personal data ("Data"):

  • Data that you and other users send via the contact form in the course of the use of the platform.
  • Technical data regarding your usage behaviour ("Usage Data"), in particular reports and log-data

GEA will always collect and store your data in accordance with the statutory data protection provisions and relevant works agreements.

For which purpose and in which extent does GEA process your personal data?

Your data will be processed in the course and for purposes of the GEA business:

  • to answer queries made by you through the contact form
  • process usage data to establish and maintain system security and system integrity, to remedy technical defects and disruptions, and to detect inappropriate or prohibited use or use contravening a GEA Guideline.

GEA further processes usage Data, for instance most frequently searched terms or most visited pages, to improve the user experience of the platform

In any event, GEA will always process your data in accordance with the statutory data protection provisions and relevant works agreements.

 Who can access your personal data?

Data that you have shared via the contact form is accessible only to GEA CMB Online employees.

Usage data can only be accessed by authorised administrators.

Your data will not be transferred to third parties outside GEA group, unless a transfer is prescribed by law, or if the transfer is permitted by law or works agreement, or based on legitimate interests of GEA, or with your express consent.

 Where and for how long will your personal data be stored?

Your data is stored in a secured data center in Europe (Belgium).

Data shared via the contact form will be stored for as long as required for the purpose for which they have initially been shared by you in accordance with statutory retention periods. Usage Data will be deleted one year after their initial storage.

 Are you entitled to claim deletion and correction of your personal data?

Your duties when handling personal data

The statutory data protection provisions and the GEA Guidelines regarding data protection and data security, in particular the GEA Data Protection Guideline also apply to your use of GEA Lingo.

The GEA Lingo platform may contain links to websites provided by third parties. This Data Protection Statement does not apply to these websites, but only the data protection statement provided by the third party on the respective website.

The use of content, the platform or parts thereof is only permitted to you within the framework and for the purposes of your employment relationship with GEA and in accordance with the GEA Guidelines.

GEA has compiled to the best of its knowledge and carefully reviewed the content of the Intranet. In addition to GEA content, GEA may also grant you access over the Intranet to third party content. GEA does not assume any responsibility for the correctness, completeness, quality or up-to-dateness of such third party content. Third party content does only reflect the opinion and assessment of the third party having provided it, but by no means GEA's opinion. As soon as GEA becomes aware of content violating law, GEA will remove or block respective content without undue delay from the Intranet.
